Good Weekend :)

Saturday was spent doing what most people in Arkansas were doing....watching the game! Little did we know that it was going to last for 6 hours!!! At the first weather delay we left and had to run to Target for a few things and thought for sure the game would be over with by the time we got back home. Weeellllll....it wasnt over yet. So I laid Emma down for her afternoon nap so Chris and I could finish watching the game while I did laundry here and there. After Emma took her nap I told Chris I wanted to go shopping for a Thanksgiving/fall outfit for Emma. We have different ideas of what that outfit should be but I guarantee I'm giong to win this debate, ha. He thinks it should be something simple and I would agree if this was even her second Thanksgiving but it's her first so I'm finding something special for her to wear. And I have found the perfect outfit on Etsy. I went to about 5 or 6 different stores Saturday and went home and got online and found the outfit within 10 min...ugh! Sunday Chris had to work and didnt' get home til 3 so Emma and I stayed in our pjs because it was a stormy kind of day. I really would have liked to stay home but Chris just insisted that we go to Lowes during a tornado watch, haha. And since we were out I made him take me back to Kohls to get a few outfits that I had wanted the night before. And that pretty much completes the weekend with the Bailey's. We have a busy week ahead and weekend for that matter....biiig Halloweeen party Saturday night that I'm really looking forward to :)

Family time

Yesterday was pretty much a day filled with seeing my family and Chris' family in the same day....and that almost never happens. Like I've said in an earlier post, my mom and sisters try to come up here one day a week and the next week I will go to Benton to see them and that way Emma gets used to them and will always know who they are. Yesterday was their turn to come up to Wooster ( my mom only likes to say Conway because the population of Wooster is about 500). We didn't do a whole lot but that's pretty much the point because their whole visits purpose is to spend time with Emma. Mom did cook one of our favorite dishes while she was here....chicken spaghetti! And an added bonus was they left the leftovers here...woo hoo!! They left about 2:30 and that's when Emma and I laid down to take a nap...and a good nap it was! We woke up at 4:30 and Grandma Judy and Grandpa Ray were here...they are Chris' parents. They had their 48th wedding anniversary last week and this was the first night we were able to take them out for it. We went to Chili's to eat and I used to love that place but it's just lost it's spot with me because there are sooo many more restaurants in Conway to go to. Emma was a little ham while we were there. After that, Chris dropped Emma and I off at Walmart to do some grocery shopping while he took his parents to their car. I'm sad to say that we go to Walmart at least twice a week and Target about once a week but you get home and there is always something you forgot. Today...is a do nothing day, yay! Chris is working all night so it's just us girls :)

Taken with my phone so it's slightly blurry but she was driving her cup like a car...pretty funny.

This is what she picked out at Walmart...to beat to death, haha! You can tell at this point it's almost bed time because her eyes are very heavy!

Home Improvements :)

Today was another loungey (sp?) and uneventful day....until Chris got home. I started doing some major "fall" cleaning a little bit before he got home while Emma was taking her afternoon nap. Her toys, exersaucer, swing, and walker have more or less invaded our living room and I can't stand clutter so that's the first thing I started working on. As I'm putting everything in her room, I realize that we haven't even completed her nursery yet and so I called Chris and told him that's what we're working on tonight. We just had a few more things to hang up and organize. Right now I have 2 FULL totes and a gift bag full of clothes that need to go to consignment but I can never remember to take them and they are just taking up a HUGE amount of space on her floor. After that we worked on hanging up the kids foot print certificates that they get after they are born. We bought certificate frames that we can put a 5x7 picture in along side the certificate. They turned out really cute and it works out that we have 2 from Baptist and 2 from St. Vincent. I will post some pictures of both projects below.

Emma has become a lot more mobile in her walker and the one thing she loooooves to do is pull up next to something and pull stuff off. Today as I was cleaning our office space I had laid some trash on a chair and the first thing she did was pull it all off. I pick it up and set it back up there and move her walker away from the area thinking she will find something else to "get in to"...no such luck! She comes back over to the chair and does it all over again...and then turns around and smiles at me as to say "ha ha mom...you can't stop me!". It was very cute so of course, I had to get some pictures of that too. She also really really loves being outside. Today, we walked out to the mailbox for a second and before I even got back to the door she started crying. Pitiful, huh? The first thing Chris does when he gets home today is take her for a ride on the lawnmower because she looooves that and just talks the whole time!

Playing with the exersaucer instead of in it, ha

We are at a natural crawling position but then she gives up and army crawls.

Pulling her bow off...again!

Sitting, yay!!!

The start of the mess..

Mommy has picked it all up and she's on her way back over to destroy...

"What mom? Can I not do this?" haha

We are saving space in the middle for a recent family photo :)

Tomorrow will be a little bit busier because Chris is off and my mom and 2 of my sisters are coming up. We will probably do what we usually do and go shopping and out to lunch...but it's always a good time :)

Nothing Special...

By the title I mean there isn't anything special to post about today. Chris left for work at 7:00 this morning and didn't get home til about 8:45 pm. I hate when he works loooong days like that because Emma is in bed when he leaves and she's in bed by the time he gets home. It was a yucky, and rainy day today so we hung out at the house and pretty much did nothing. I like those kinds of days because our weekends and some week days are sooo busy and it's nice to be able to stay in your pj's until 7:00 at night....I may or may not have done that today, ha!

When Emma was about 8 weeks old she started sleeping really really good at night. She would sleep for 8-9 hours, wake up to eat, and then go back to sleep for another 2-3 hours. Awesome, right??? Yeah we were very very lucky. We didn't move her to her room in her big girl crib until she was 6 months old and the reason being it wasn't ready. We had to paint it and put it the way we wanted it and with Chris working so many hours it was a very slow process. So ever since we moved her in to her room, she hasn't been sleeping good AT ALL! She sleeps for about 3-4 hours, gets up to eat, goes back to sleep for about another 3-4 hours, and at that point I just put her in the bed with us and she will sleep another 3 hours. I don't know what the heck is up with that but mama and daddy sure don't like going backwards. And Chris is sooooo good about getting up with me EVERY TIME that she wakes up. He just sits on the couch until I rock her and put her back to bed....and I always tell him to go back to bed and his response is " You may need me for something."...awesome husband! Well.......last night I don't know what we did differently but my beautiful baby slept soooooo good. We were kind of worried at one point though. She went to bed at 8:30 pm (like she does every night after her bath) and didn't get up til 6:40...holy moly! I was soooo freakin excited, haha. She took a bottle and went back to sleep in my bed until 9:00! I couldn't believe it. I was a very happy mama today!

Our plans for the rest of this week and the weekend (fingers crossed) are very calm so far. We don't have a whole lot to do except having lunch with some friends on Saturday, so far. My mom and 2 of my sisters are coming up Thursday. We try to switch off weeks of them coming up here to visit one week and then Emma and I going to Benton the next week. We've been doing it for several months now. Emma loves her Gammy and all of her aunts. My nephew, Jackson, is going to come also...I hope. I wish Bailee and Cambree (Brandy's girls) could come, too. I don't get to see any of my nieces and nephew as much as I would like to. I wish I lived closer to home so I could spend more time with my family but that wouldn't be fair to Chris to have to travel so far.

Anyways...I'm going to go to bed and hope to the good Lord above the monkey sleeps as well as she did last night!

Goodnight

Updates..

As I have said before...I'm not good at the blogging thing. I can't ever remember to do it. But not a whole lot has happened since the last post anyways.

I will just share a few updates/events.

In September we had a small get together for Chris' bday. We grilled burgers and played Tiger Woods on the Wii. The kids all had a great time together. Especially Jackson....he looooves Emma to death. He pushed her around in her walker (until we had to make him quit b/c he was ramming her in to the columns). He's too cute. It's always a great time when family/friends can get together!

This is where he started to run in to the columns
Chris and Wes (it was also his bday) blowing out their candles...Christopher thought dad needed some help.

Not a whole lot else went on in September. So far October has been a pretty busy month. The first weekend in October we had Christophers 10th birthday party at the skating rink. All of the kids have really started to loooove skating here recently so we've been going quite a bit. Conway doesn't have the best rink in the world which is kind of surprising with the size of this city. Christopher got a new bike, and new controller for the Wii, and money (which is what he wanted the most) and he got a lot of money, too! They had a great time there but poor Emma was soooo tired she just wiped out on Big Daddys shoulder. It was so cute and sweet. They have these seats on wheels for the babies to be pushed around in and she likes anything that moves fast so of course, her daddy pushed her around in it. The second weekend we had Jacksons 2nd birthday party! We have lots of parties this time of year, haha! His was celebrated at Party Central in Benton. Unfortunately, the kids couldn't go because they were at their moms this weekend. But, Emma did get to go and Uncle Jeremy took her down the big slide. I was a little nervous at first so I wouldn't take her but of course, she loved it! After that, we met the kids at the State Fair. They always have a good time there. Christopher has become a little dare devil since last year. We found that out earlier in the summer when we took the kids to Six Flags. He rode rides that I never thought he would have ridden! That's my kind of boy!! And finally this past weekend has been the busiest so far. Thursday night we took the kids roller skating with a big group from their school. I think it's something they do every once in a while. Friday we went to Heber Springs for the high school Homecoming football game. They won, yay! Saturday we went to the pumpkin patch in Mayflower. The weather was completely opposite from last year. Last year it was soooo cold and windy and this year it was soooo hot...but still windy. Emma wasn't really enjoying herself because it was sooo hot. But we still managed to get good pictures! That night we had family movie night and when I asked the kids what their favorite part abt the weekend was, they said Saturday night and that made me happy. We popped popcorn and I put a special surprise in it (peanut m&ms) and that seemed to make Jacindas day, ha! Sunday we carved their pumpkins and took them to Halloween Express to pick out their Halloween costumes.
I will try to do better with all of the blogging!
